BAKU (Armenpress)–During meetings with the newly appointed US Karabakh negotiator Carey Cavanaugh Wednesday–Azeri president Haydar Aliyev expressed his dissatisfaction with the activities of the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe–charged to broker peace in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Aliyev told Cavanaugh that the Minsk Group was ineffective and reiterated his rejection of the Minsk Group proposal of a "common state," as a status consideration for Karabakh.
"We have not agreed and will not agree to that proposal–because it is a veiled attempt to legitimize Karabakh’s independence," Aliyev told Cavanaugh.
