ISTANBUL (Lraper)–His Holiness Catholicos Aram I of Cilicia wrote to His Beatitude Patriarch Mesrob II of Istanbul expressing his solidarity in these times of hardship following the devastating earthquake early yesterday morning. His Holiness wrote:
"We heard about the terrible earthquake that struck the Marmara region of Turkey–also causing damage to the Patriarchate building–churches–community centers and some Armenian residences.
"We share Your grief and concerns and We offer you Our full solidarity in all Your efforts for the repair of the damages caused by this earthquake. We assure You and all the faithful in Your spiritual care that all of you are in our prayers and thoughts especially during these critical days when you are facing tremendous difficulties and worries.
"We wish You spiritual strength to face these hardships with patience and wisdom."
