ETCHMIADZIN (RFE/RL)–Archbishop Karekin Necissian–Vicar General of His Holiness Karekin I–Catholicos of All Armenian–held a press conference in Etchmiadzin Thursday .
Speaking of his new post–to which he was appointed by the Catholicos–Nercissian said that he will stand in for the Catholicos for a maximum of two months until the latter returns from New York where he is undergoing medical treatment.
"I hope and pray that the Catholicos will soon be cured–and that he will return to Echmiadzin and resume his duties," Nercissian said.
