YEREVAN–A meeting was held between Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian and ARF Bureau representatives Garo Armenian–Vahan Hovhannesian and Mario Nalbandian on Tuesday morning.
The latest developmen’s in the ongoing Karabakh peace process was the main issue discussed during the meeting. The ARF delegation briefed Oskanian on the results of the recent ARF conference. Both sides stressed the importance of the second Armenia-Diaspora Conference to be held soon.
Oskanian congratulated Mario Nalbandian for his work with the Armenian National Committee of Europe–and for the passing of a resolution on the Genocide Convention submitted by the Armenian delegation at the UN Human Rights Commission on April 25. The Foreign Minister also recognized Armenia’s election to the influential UN Commission on Human Rights on May 4. Armenia was voted by the panel’s parent body–the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
