Armenia and France signed new military cooperation agreements on Monday when Armenia’s Defense Minister Suren Papikyan visited France.
This is a continuation of the agreements between the two countries, that saw the delivery of French defensive military hardware to Armenia earlier this year. This move has angered Baku, which has accused Paris of disrupting the current peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Papikyan met his French counterpart Sébastien Lecornu on the margins of his working visit to France, which includes participating in the opening ceremony of the EUROSATORY international defense exhibition.
According to Armenia’s Defense Ministry, Papikyan updated Lecornu on the progress of defense reforms in Armenia and the activities carried out within the framework of cooperation with France in this direction.

The defense ministers emphasized the importance of military-technical cooperation; new agreements have been reached in this regard.
Papikyan was also on hand to sign a military-technical cooperation agreement between Armenia’s defense ministry and the French military-industrial company KNDS.
The details and scope of that agreement were not publicized.
