AYGEPAR, Armenia—On Aug. 10, two houses in Aygepar, a village in Armenia’s Tavush region, burned down after being fired upon by large caliber guns inside Azerbaijan. Although local firefighters arrived quickly, they were unable to put down the blaze, largely because they were subject to continuous artillery fire by the Azerbaijani military. Both homes burned to the ground.
Hayastan All-Armenian Fund will provide the two families with apartments in Aygepar. The announcement comes 48 hours after news of the burned down homes.
