YEREVAN (Itar-Tass)Armenia is trying to fulfill its obligations to international organizations despite its limited budget–a Foreign Ministry official told Itar-Tass on Monday.
In January 1997–Armenia paid $1.2 million in United Nations membership fees and an additional $420,000 for its peace-keeping forces.
Armenia is unable to immediately pay all of its dues to the international organizations–including Interpol–the International Atomic Energy Agency and the International Committee of the Red Cross. According to the Foreign Ministry official–dues to these organizations are voluntary.
