YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)Armenia’s Foreign Minister Alexander Arzoumanian met with a delegation of the Council of Europe on Wednesday.
The delegation is in Armenia on a fact-finding mission to study Armenia’s application for membership to the European group. A final report will be presented to the EC Ministers Council–which has a decisive role in the membership process.
Arzoumanian stressed the importance of Armenia’s relations with the Council of Europe and other European structures and presented in detail the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh after the presidential elec
tion. He also spoke of the negotiations aimed at settling the Karabakh problem.
The delegation showed much interest in the Karabakh problem–Armenia’s Foreign Ministry reported.
The delegation’s visit will conclude Friday.
