BAKU (Reuters)–Azerbaijan’s President Gaidar Aliyev said on Thursday he was ready for new peace talks with Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh.
"Azerbaijan will work with the new president of Armenia in the framework of negotiations over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” Aliyev told reporters in the capital Baku.
"We hope for a resumption of peace talks with Armenia and that the Minsk group of the OSCE will remain faithful to its last recommendations on resolving the conflict,” he said.
Azerbaijan has agreed to the OSCE peace proposal which envisions Karabakh to remain under Azeri rule.
