PICO RIVERA, CA – An extensive community-wide effort to provide moral and financial support for the Mesrobian Armenian School will culminate at a dinner-reception on November 13 at 6 pm at the Beverly Hills home of Varoujan Karapetian, a long time supporter of the School .
The call for financial assistance is being made to ensure a new generation of Armenian-Americans receives quality education that is richly embedded with Armenian culture, history and language and immersed with lifelong friendships, sense of pride and belonging.
As a private institution, Mesrobian’s financial realities have had to contend with the desire to educate as many Armenian children as possible. Some of these children come from families with limited income who could not possibly afford the ever increasing cost of tuition at Mesrobian School though the monthly rates are lower than any other private school.
In response to these challenges, the Mesrobian Support Group has been re-established to subsidize tuition assistance given to needy students attending the School. Its goal is to raise $100,000 through the generous donations of supporters who believe in this mission.
According to Mesrobian administrators, a group of 30 individuals has already committed to donating $1,500 each to the Support Group. They in turn are also acting as the driving force to call on other members of the community to ask for their contribution and participation.
For the staff and administration at Mesrobian, access to quality education is the right of any child. To make a tax deductible contribution of $1,500 or any amount of choice, contact the Mesrobian School office at (323) 723-3181.
