Traditional Mediterranean cuisine is now more delicious, fresh, and accessible than ever
GLENDALE—According to a variety of food trend spotters, Middle Eastern cuisine and especially traditional Mediterranean ingredients are gaining popularity in America due to ease of preparation, perceived health benefits, and variety of flavors and textures.

Roubina Begoumian, known throughout Glendale and the greater Los Angeles area as the master chef behind Robert’s Catering Service, has been creating traditional Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine for decades. Responding to the public’s growing interest in exotic flavors, Barry Begoumian, a member of the family, has recently joined the 35 year old family-operated business and is excited to announce the opening of their new retail food outlet Blend by Roubina on May 1, 2012. Located at 1200 North Pacific Avenue, Glendale, this family run operation encourages the local community to get involved and “experience gourmet” in their everyday lives.
Blend by Roubina’s menu of delicious and conveniently prepared meals and daily fresh salads are combinations of rich, exotic tastes that help shoppers create healthy, superior quality dishes. Guests looking for a home-cooked, gourmet meal will find it easier than ever to find a trustworthy, welcoming, and family-oriented atmosphere in the retail food outlet.
Opening May, busy moms, working couples, and others looking for a convenient gourmet food experience will be able to choose from a wide variety of authentic, never-frozen Mediterranean dishes. Made with unique ingredients, these wholesome meals have an unbeatable flavor profile. Blend by Roubina, named for its integration of Mediterranean classics with American culture, will offer a wide variety of items including ready-made stews, soups, salads, and hot and cold appetizers.
“We are happy to extend our 35 years of providing quality gourmet food, Mediterranean specialties, and service into a retail environment for the ease and convenience of our past, present, and future customers,” says Barry. “Blend by Roubina has been a dream for many years, and we are excited that it is becoming a reality.”
Conveniently located at 1200 North Pacific Avenue, with plenty of parking, Blend’s trained staff can help shoppers choose daily menu ideas and invite them to experiment with fresh international flavors. At Blend, customers can meet new friends, share recipes, and flourish in their own kitchen while trying new sauces, spices, and other ingredients.
With a rich history in gourmet catering, the Begoumians hope that Blend by Roubina will help bring families together to experience and enjoy their traditional gourmet meals. In the hustle and bustle of today’s busy world, Blend by Roubina will serve as an instant vacation to the exotic flavors of the Mediterranean.
First I would like to congratulate the Begoumians and wish that their business becomes immensely successful. With that said, I would also like to express my disappointment with Asbarez. This entire article amounts to a full page advertising piece found in daily newspapers, however without the disclaimer or “advertisements” heading. I have read Asbarez since the 1990’s and I am noticing that the quality of your journalism is deteriorating. You are updating your website less frequently and often times with such distasteful articles such as this. I have come to a realization that other Armenian websites are becoming my main source of news when I need information about our country. Please bring back the Asbarez we all knew and loved and stop publishing garbage articles such as this which amounts to nothing but full fledged advertising!
