YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)– The steering committee of the All Armenian Forum "In Defense of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic" hailed the the steps taken by the Armenian authorities in the Karabakh settlement. The policy the Armenian authorities adhered to is in line with the committee’s standpoint–the members of the steering committee said during their Dec.24 meeting with President Robert Kocharian.
Speaking of shifts in the Karabakh settlement–Kocharian stressed that the government structures had boosted their activities at various international organizations and forums. Diasporan resources are being used more effectively now.
Kocharian informed the guests that on December 24 he signed a decree under which a pan-Armenian conference will be called in Yerevan next year. The sides referred to the importance of discussing national problems and hoped for the conference to become a means to boost relations between Armenia and the Diaspora.
