YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"The Copenhagen meeting has yielded nothing–and we did not expect it to," Karabakh Prime Minister Leonard Petrossian said–commenting on the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s Foreign Ministers’ Summit in Copenhagen.
Speaking at a ceremony opening another sector of the Lachin Corridor Saturday–the Karabakh prime minister reminded the attendees of his statemen’s made a month ago–wherein he predicted that the Copenhagen meeting would produce no serious resolution.
"It seems to me that nothing has changed since 1988. No country has changed its standpoint. Karabakh also has not changed its standpoint–as it continues the pursuit of its independence–which is not the matter of one day–one year or even a decade. We perfectly understand that we must wait long and–finally–due to our persistence–we shall attain our goal," Petrossian said.
Referring to Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s article on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict–Petrossian asserted that his government did not wish to discuss Ter-Petrosyan’s thought on the issue–for it brought out strong sentimen’s among Karabakh Armenia’s.
