ANKARA, Turkey—The terms set forward for opening the Turkish-Armenian border remain unchanged, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said in a speech to the Turkish parliament. The discussion occurred as Davutoglu briefed members of the parliament’s Foreign Affairs Commission on developments in Turkey’s foreign policy at a closed-door meeting.
“Armenia needs to withdraw from Karabakh first for the border to open,” the Foreign Minister said, according to Turkish media reports.
“If Armenia submits to our requirement to withdraw from Karabakh, both borders and railways will open and ties will expand. We want to do this together with Azerbaijan’s consent,” the Turkish Minister added.
Davutoglu made the statement in response to an inquiry by a Turkish member of parliament from the Ararat region.
Saying that there seems to be preparatory work being conducted in his region near the Turkey-Armenia border and along the railway there, the member of parliament asked the minister whether they indicate a possible opening of the border.
Davutoglu confirmed the preparations, noting that “We are making such efforts. We can make a surprise opening if we convince Azerbaijan.”
I want to thank Minister Davutoglu for his remarks. Id like to remind him that Turkey itself is occupying the lands of my forefathers. Therefore they have no moral authority to tell us what to do in regards to Karabagh. Perhaps they should consider withdrawing from Cyprus as well. Discussions in regards to opening borders, should be set without any conditions. If Turkey can do that, then we should be willing to at least listen.
MR.Davutoglu

These are meaningless political statements that are only good for their “internal consumption”. What he says doesn’t make sense.
They are playing games, Can a Turk be trusted, becouse our history proves otherwise.
We should be carefull, and not forget our past especially about 1915 The Armenian Genocide.
COWARDS are in no position to dictate pre-conditions,especially if the are BIG LIARS.
100 anneversary of Armenian genocide is approching very fast. old fox davutoglu is suddenly thinking to reopen his countrys, border…….. oops sorry I mean Western Armenia to Estern Armenia. kars to Gumry he is connecting two Armenian cities ,his zero+ turkey=zero.is not working any more not for Iran or Iraq, or Siryia,it will not work for Armenia either. close borded with turkey is a blessing for Armenia. lisen: Armenia does not need turkish tourists. turkish investors ” 20 th century’s govrnment organized and supported murderers and terorist” ARMENIAS WILL NEVER I AM INSITING NEVER FORGET AND FORGIVE HIS ENEMIES.
What else is new, Azerbaijan dictates Turkey’s policy. Long live Aliyev and his petrodollars!
But all good things must come to an end someday and that day is not too far away.
This Mongol Mutt Ahmet Gotverenoglu is beginning to sound like a broken record, keeps repeating the same nonsense year after year. He is either a donkey brain Turkish imbecile who does not get it or someone out there is not reminding this hallucinating hayvanoglu that he and his criminal government have no authority, moral and otherwise, to pass judgment on others and tell them what they should or should not do when they themselves have invaded and occupied Northern Cyprus since 1974, have murdered 1,500,000 Armenian men women and children, have depopulated, confiscated and occupied 90% of the Armenian homeland, have been pimped out by the pseudo-Turkish artificial state of Azergayjan to blockade the borders of contemporary Armenia in return for cheap oil. He can take his preconditions and shove them where the sun don’t shine.
Someone has got to step up and retire this eshekoglu and send him packing back to his homeland in Uyghuristan.
The real Armenia-Turkey border is near Ankara.
Keep your so-called “border” closed… barking turkey!!
Mr. Davutoglu your offering something that Armenians don’t care anymore,Thank you. Untill Armenian Genocide issue is not solved, Armenia is better off with a closed border than an open border. This cheap declaration for election purposes and to win points with Azeris seems to go hand in hand with Azerbaijan’s Aliyev’s stupidity.
Closed border – This is in fact a blessing in disguise for Armenia.
Open border – This would dramatically enhance Turkey’s regional power ambitions. The Azeri stance has been a pain in the neck for Turkey.
If Turkey wants to open te borders with Armenia than i can almost guarantee that there is something wrong.
Turks are sneaky rats
And Artsakh will always be Armenian without Artsakh there is no Armenia
