In a military operation over the weekend, Armenian Defense Forces successfully retaliated for the June 1 killing of Artsakh Soldier Sipan Melkonyan by Azerbaijani forces.
Armenia’s Defense Ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovanhanniyan took to social media in a rare post to announce that Defense Minister David Tonoyan has bestowed the highest honors on the soldiers who were involved in the retaliatory operation to “avenge the death of Sipan Melkonyan” and praised their conduct.
Ignoring the role that Azerbaijani soldiers played in the 19-year-old Melkonyan’s killing, official Baku issued an announcement through the foreign ministry that acknowledged the death of one Azerbaijani soldier as a result of “diversion operations by the Armenian side.”
The Azerbaijani foreign ministry said in its announcement that on the eve of planned meeting by the top diplomats from Armenia and Azerbaijan, mediated by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmen, the Armenian side undertook “a regular bloody operation,” in an effort to thwart the Karabakh peace process. Official Baku also placed the so-called blame on Armenia and its authorities.
It should worth noting that the retaliatory operation took place following last week’s meeting between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Vladimir Putin of Russia in St. Petersburg.
Well done Mr. Pashinyan! Who knows how many of those Armenian haters were killed!
Mr. Aliyev Be aware Pashinyan is not Sarkissyan He elected by Majority of Armenian People. For both side Killing innocent young men is not justifiable ..However, Since you FIRST started you can STOP it …
“You think good people don’t kill?”[…}”Good people are able do all the things bad people do, But only when you enforce them, they do it for justice.
That’s tremendous. Defense minister Tonoyan’s stance on instilling consequences for the reckless and criminal behavior of the LOSING AZERI SIDE is a long awaited welcome.
Very sad. So young and killed by those savages.
I wonder if ever peace comes. I mean the “deal ” between the politicians. How can we live with such people. Would you trust them?
Rest in peace you brave soldier of Armenia. Such a shame that our young men get killed by these barbarians. I am glad that Armenian army retaliated. Enough is enough!
the only way we can stop this madness every time the kill one Armenia solder we have to kill twenty Azerbaijani solders
this is the only way they will get the massage one solder here one solder there we losing average of over one hundred solders a year and this we out having war with this Armenian haters
ARMENIAN TACTICS HAVE CHANGED ARMENIA’S MESSAGE TO AZERBAIJAN BEWARE OF WHAT YOU DO OR THERE WILL BE TERRIBLE CONSEQUENCES, THIS IS THE FIRST STEP NEXT TIME I AM SURE THERE WILL BE MORE SEVERE RETALIATIONS.THIS IS A VERY CLEAR MESSAGE TO AZERBAIJAN.
The defense minister Tonoyan definitely has the right mentality in dealing with the enemy. You neither appease nor negotiate with a bully which will further embolden him. You hold your ground, stare the bully in the eye and punch his lights out. One thing I would change in his approach is to kill a 100 Azeris for every Armenian targeted. This is the only way they will feel on their skins the consequences of their criminal actions and refrain from acting this way in the future. This is a racist and sadistic enemy who perceives your lack of action or hesitation to act as your weakness and therefore will increase his attacks. To avoid this you must retaliate and launch attacks with utmost ferocity and intent to remove any doubt in the enemy’s mind that his actions won’t go unpunished. Needless to say, the enemy’s vindictive and haphazard behavior has alot to do with its humiliating defeat in the battlefield a quarter century ago. They are, tothis day, unable to digest the defeat handed to them. They need yet another major defeat to put their minds at ease and seal the deal.
P.S. The history has shown that every time the enemy has ceased hostilities and either agreed or begged for a ceasefire that has not been for the sake of peace but because the tricky enemy has felt vulnerable and needed a break to reinforce to launch further attacks. We need to learn from such mistakes in order to avoid such situations and instead continue our attacks on the enemy to bring them to their knees and force their capitulation!
