YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenia’s Diaspora Minister Hran’sh Hakobian and the chairman of the National Academy of Sciences Radik Martirosian signed on Friday a document that will lay the groundwork for the consolidation of educational and scientific ties between Armenia and her worldwide diaspora.
The agreement envisages the eventual consolidation of Armenia and Diaspora scientific and educational ties, and the creation of opportunities for Diaspora scientists to integrate into Armenia’s scientific life.
According to Hakobian the first steps of cooperation between Armenia and the Diaspora should have started with the Academy because the “scientific potential of our nation must be the basis by which it will be possible to develop programs and consolidate Armenia-Diaspora relations.”
Agreeing with Hakobian, Martirosian stressed the need to make use of the diaspora’s vast potential, noting that little has been done till now to fully tap into its potential.
