YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Ashot Safarian–former minister of industry–was arrested on February 1. He is charged with abuse in the energy sphere from 1992 to 1999. The case is being overseen by the Prosecutor General’s Office. Ashot Safarian was minister of industry from December 1991 to June 1997. Currently–he is President of the Board of Directors of the ArmCable company.
