Armenian Media isn’t always the easiest thing to follow. Website’s, blogs, tweets and Facebook pages abound. Armenian news happens fast and there’s just too much content and not enough time to keep up with it all.
As a result, many of us usually get caught-up in the daily news feed of cease-fire violations or presidential meetings, while missing some of the more unusual and unique stories floating around the vastness of the Internet. Every Monday, we’ll feature some of these stories and share with you what we thought stood out from the crowd.

Native American Delegation to Build Bridges in Turkey
Representatives from 17 Native American tribes left the U.S. on November 6 for a weeklong business, educational and cultural exchange trip to Turkey on Turkish Airlines’ inaugural flight from Washington, DC to Istanbul, organized by the Turkish Coalition of America.
Participants on the first Native American Business Cooperation Trip are scheduled to meet with Turkish Minister for Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu, Minister for Foreign Trade Zafer Caglayan, and members of the Turkish Parliament’s Turkey-USA Friendship Group. Read the story here

Book Review: ‘The Caucasus: An Introduction’
Nareg Seferian reviews Thomas de Waal’s latest book on the South Caucasus for the Armenian Weekly. Unlike de Waal’s last book, “Black Garden,” which focused entirely on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, “The Caucasus: An Introduction” centers more heavily on the post-Soviet histories of the countries and, in particular, the changes in Azerbaijan and Georgia, including energy politics, the Rose Revolution, as well as the August 2008 war with Russia. Armenian American Awarded For Paris Fashion Photography
The Armenian Reporter carries a story about FotoWeek DC’s choice of Armenian fashion photographer SERLI in its fine art competition. SERLI’s winning works will be exhibited throughout the week of November 6-13 in print at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington and will be projected on buildings and as part of the Night Gallery outdoor displays.
