YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A new director was appointed to the Yerevan Brandy Factory following last week’s sale of the factory to France’s Pernod Ricard company–Azg Daily Newspaper reported. It was reported that following the official signing of the deal–the French side asked the factory’s former director Albert Geroyan to resign. The Yerevan Brandy Factory will now be managed by a Mr. Roucot.
Geroyan–upset with his sudden resignation–presented a complaint to the Armenian government.
He claimed that the French side assured him that he would continue in office and be a member of the shareholders council.
Referring to "certain sources" Azg said that Geroyan was promised some other post–likely to be governor of a region–as compensation.
