STEPANAKERT (Noyan Tapan)–A regular session of the government steering committee on planned festivities for the 10th anniversary of the national liberation struggle of Artsakh was held Monday to review work done to this point.
The session was chaired by Karabakh Prime Minister Leonard Petrossian–and was held to consider proposals by separate ministries and departmen’s in context of the government’s comprehensive program for the jubilee celebrations.
Those present expressed their concern over the ongoing political crisis in Armenia on the eve of the celebrations. Premier Petrossian said nothing must overshadow the celebrations–and that according to him–people in Artsakh needed to be certain that their leadership was united in reaching a Karabakh settlement while remaining committed to the principles of a peaceful settlement and defending the country’s independence.
Addressing Armenia’s stance–the premier reiterated that the Karabakh problem was of national importance and the position on its solution had to be decided by the Armenian people.
