YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Catholicos of All Armenia’s–His Holiness Karekin I was elected to the World Informatization Academy based in Canada and the World Peoples Academy "Elite" inYugoslavia.
Visiting the Holy See of Etchmiadzin Friday–President of the World Informatization Academy Azat Vardanian and Chairman of the "Elite" Academy Milan Zets handed over membership certification to Karekin I.
Vardanian said that both academies operate under the umbrella of the United Nations.
Patriarch of the Russia Alexiy II–Boris Yeltsin–Boutros Ghali and other officials were elected members of the two academies as well.
Vardanian also said that both academies will open their branches in Armenia–while now a medical center is being established in Yerevan through their joint efforts.
