YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–President Robert Kocharian introduced the new Mayor of Yerevan Souren Abrahamian to the heads of Yerevan’s 12 districts and Mayor’s Office divisions–Wednesday. Pointing out the city’s major problems–Kocharian stressed that a man of strong will and good management experience has been placed in charge.
Kocharian also thanked the outgoing acting mayor–Kamo Areyan–praising his activities during a critical period in the state. He also expressed optimism that the new mayor would continue to work for the welfare of Yerevan.
