YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"Armenia’s relations with the Diaspora have entered a very interesting phase when concrete measures are being taken to achieve the desired aim," President Robert Kocharian told a delegation of the Homenetmen Central Executive–accompanied by the Executive of the Armenian National Scouting Union
Kocharian called for the Diaspora’s greater involvement in the affairs of Armenia–in order to ensure the country’s progress.
"Today we are doing what you’ve been doing in the Diaspora every year," Kocharian said. In the president’s opinion–the Pan-Armenian Games will become another step toward stronger ties between Armenia and the Diaspora.
Emphasizing the importance of events such as the Pan-Armenian Games–Kocharian said he expected Diasporan organizations to take an active part in such processes.
