YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenia’s Prime Minister Robert Kocharian met with members of the Union of National Minorities of Armenia Wednesday.
During the meeting the sides referred to the necessity of developing government policies with respect to national minorities and their problems UNMA Chairman Vladimir Chatoyev–who represents the interests of more than a dozen national minorities living in Armenia–as well as leaders of communities–told Kocharian about the goals and problems of the organization.
Having learned about the situation–particularly the migration processes–Kocharian pointed out that the government was paying special attention to social and cultural problems faced by national minorities.
