SAN FERNANDO VALLEY—The Los Angeles Police Protective League endorsed Adrin Nazarian in the race for the State Assembly in the 46th district, announced his campaign.
The LAPPL represents more than 9,900 sworn officers of the Los Angeles Police Department and joins the United Firefighters of Los Angeles City (UFLAC) Local 112, Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers’ Association (LAAPOA), the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), and the California Professional Firefighters in support of Adrin Nazarian’s candidacy.
“Adrin Nazarian has a long record of commitment to public safety and the officers who each day put their lives on the line to protect our community,” LAPPL President Tyler Izen said. “We are proud to endorse Adrin and know that when elected, he will continue to prioritize public safety as the number one job of our community and state.”
As the chief of staff to then-Assemblymember Paul Krekorian, Adrin helped craft legislation aimed at protecting minors from predatory talent agencies, fought in Sacramento to balance budgets without comprising public safety and protected communities by working on legislation to evict drug dealers from their rental properties.
“The most important job of government is to keep us safe and with the LAPPL at my side, we will stand together to ensure that our state budget never comprises a police officer’s ability to do his or her job,” Adrin Nazarian said. “Having had the pleasure of working closely with the LAPPL, they know my pledge to public safety is not an empty promise, but a solemn commitment.”
The newly drawn 46th Assembly District includes the Los Angeles neighborhoods of North Hollywood, Toluca Lake, Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Valley Village, Valley Glen, Van Nuys, Panorama City, North Hills, Lake Balboa and the Hollywood Hills. The primary is June 5, 2012.
