YEREVAN (RFE/RL)–A former prime minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic–Leonard Petrosian–has been appointed Armenia’s deputy minister of defense. The appointment was announced on Tuesday as part of a major government reshuffle.
Petrosian resigned as Karabakh prime minister last May as a result of a serious government crisis in Stepanakert. He has since moved to Armenia to work as adviser to Prime Minister Armen Darbinian. In his new job–Petrosian will focus on supplies of material to the military.
