YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"The feeling that to continue to move along the current path has no prospects and there is a need to search for other ways have deepened in society over the last year," National Democratic Union chairman Vazgen Manoukian stated.
According to him–although–politically–1997 was marked with the union’s break-up–different forces may still unite. Manoukian described Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s news conference as a negative political event. "Irrespective of the changes in the Karabakh issue–the speech was a withdrawal from the positions on the international arena," the member of parliament said. Manoukian believes that even those western politicians who realize the complexity of the issue and could have displayed a better approach to the matter–have now adopted Ter-Petrosyan’s views.
