
YEREVAN (ArmRadio)—The new OSCE Chairman in Office, Kazakh Foreign Minister and Secretary of State Kanat Saudabayev will visit the South Caucasus along a far-reaching tour of OSCE member states where he will hold multilateral and bilateral meetings with officials.
According to an official statement by the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, Saudabayev is scheduled to visit the South Caucasus, Balkans¸ Eastern Europe and Central Asia in 2010. It said the visits will seek to mitigate crisis situations, settle conflicts and ensure coordination of state parties’ efforts in specific spheres.
Kazakhstan assumed up the rotating chairmanship of the OSCE on January 1.
“Regular consultations with the European Union, Council of Europe, Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), CIS, NATO, CSTO and other international organizations will be held in Vienna and other capital cities of OSCE partner countries,” the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.
“Experience proves the significance of such approach in terms of approximating different positions on key agenda issues, coordinating measures and avoiding repetitions,” it added.
