YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mohammad Farhad Koleini paid his first visit to Holy Etchmiadzin on June 1 to meet with Karekin II–the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenia’s.
During the meeting His Holiness expressed confidence that the newly appointed ambassador–with his broad experience and knowledge–would give a fresh impetus to the mutual relations between the two friendly nations. The Catholicos wished the Iranian diplomat every success in his mission–promising assistance.
Ambassador Koleini appreciated the role of the paramount spiritual leader of Armenia’s in promoting friendship between the two nations and preserving the ideological values. Koleini vowed to spare no efforts to bring the peoples of Iran and Armenia closer together. He expressed his belief that love and mutual understanding are the best means of resolving differences. The Iranian ambassador invited Karekin II to pay a visit of blessings to the renovated Blue Mosque in Yerevan.
Before leaving–Ambassador Koleini presented the Supreme Patriarch of Armenia’s a fine hand-made carpet bearing the image of Jesus Christ.
The same day His Holiness Karekin II received representatives of the "Church of Jesus Christ."
