
Boghos Armenak Lakissian was born on October 27, 1924, in the village of Yoghunoluk, Musa Dagh. In 1938, he went to study at the Melkonian Educational Institute in Cyprus, graduating in 1945 after completing the full course of studies. That same year, he returned to Lebanon to join his parents who had resettled in the village of Anjar.
In 1947, Boghos Lakissian and his parents immigrated to Armenia. He continued his higher education at the University of Economics in Yerevan, earning a Master of Arts degree, while teaching at the same university. In 1949, he reunited with his Melkonian classmate-sweetheart, Angela Arshami Davitian (Jamkochian), marrying her soon after. They were blessed with one son and two daughters.
In 1990, the family settled in the United States, where Boghos continued his professional and literary work. He remained devoted and connected to his ancestral homeland, having written six books and countless articles, and having given interviews on the subject. Boghos Armenak Lakissian was a regular contributor to the Armenian press in Los Angeles, writing for the weekly newspapers “Massis,” “Nor Or,” “Nor Kyanq,” “Asbarez,” and “Molorak.”
A dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he exemplified until the end the core values for which he stood. His family was blessed to have him as a living treasure from whom they received love, direction, and wisdom. He, in turn, was blessed with a long life surrounded by generations of family who adored, admired, respected, and loved him.
