YEREVAN (Yerkir)–Nobel Laureate Orhan Pamuk has been invited to speak on the Armenian Genocide at the European Parliament. Citing reports by the Trend news agency, Noyan Tapan reported that the invitation was made by Italian member of the European Parliament Mario Rgezio, who is famous for his pro-Armenian stance. Pamuk was charged by the Turkish government for "insulting Turkishness" for sharply criticizing Turkey on the Armenian Genocide and deaths of tens of thousands of Kurds. He was acquitted in January.
