Prelate Visits Ferrahian School

ENCINO—On Tuesday, March 11, His Eminence Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy, visited the Holy Martyrs Ferrahian, Cabayan & Pilavjian School.

The Prelate, accompanied by Father Razmig Khatchadourian, Prelacy Executive Council member Toros Kejejian, and School Board member Vahe Benlian, arrived at the school’s North Hills Campus greeted by Principal John Kossakian, Assistant Principal Tro Tchekidjian, and Preschool Director Vehik Gabrielian.

His Eminence first visited the preschool classrooms led by Ms. Vehik Gabrielian. Later on, at Minassian Hall, with the leadership of Assistant Principal Tro Tchekidjian and emceed by Azadouhi Ghazarian, the Prelate attended an assembly where the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders presented a performance. Benlian then led His Eminence to the soccer field where the future elementary school will be erected and explained the specifics of the project.

The visit continued at the Encino campus around 11:30 am, where under the leadership of Vice Principal Vartkes Nalbandian, the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders presented a brief performance at Dickranian Hall. The assembly ensued with a candid discussion session where the students had the opportunity to discuss with His Eminence concerns about their religious beliefs, their social and cultural lives and related matters. Present were members of the School Board, Vice Chair Raffi Guedikian, Vahe Benlian, and Armen Avakian.

The visit of the day ended with the Prelate having a lent lunch with the seniors. At lunch, the Prelate explained to the students the essence of lent food and the religious aspect of it.

Principal John Kossakian on behalf of the students, the faculty, and the administration expressed his appreciation and warmly thanked His Eminence for the special visit.
