FRESNO–Sarkis Boghosian presented Armenian Revolutionary Federation Bureau member Apo Boghigian with a $100,000 donation to the ARF Fund Friday at the Fresno "Asbarez" Center.
A separate account will be established for the donation.
ARF Bureau Finance Committee member Manas Boujikian said that per the request of the benefactor–the amount will remain as capital and the interest will be allotted for Armenian National Committee activities.
Varoujan Koundakjian–also a member of the committee–expressed hope that Boghosian’s donation will set precedence in the community. In the next two years–the Finance Committee aims to add two million dollars to the ARF Fund in order to strengthen and expand the scope of ANC activities.
It is necessary to note that in September Sarkis Boghosian announced that he has planned to will $300,000 to the ARF Fund. Acknowledging the recent and ongoing political and military forces acting against Karabakh–with his current donation–he wishes to stimulate ANC activities more rapidly.
An active community member–Boghosian is 93 years old–and is being cared for by Armenian Relief Society member Dirouhi Kupelian.
