YEREVAN (Armen Press)–The Ministry of Culture–Sports and Youth Issues is outlawing the performance of "Rabiz" music–(pop music with storng Turkish and Arabic influences). This type of music will no longer be allowed to be performed in governement owned halls and auditoriums.
According to the Ministry’s Head of Cultural and Artistic Issue Arthur Shahnazarian–the music promotes a vulgar atmosphere and also influences the way people act and dress–affecting their tastes and preferences. According to Shahnazarian–the fight against "Rabiz" music is "starting today."
