YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–In an interview with Georgian radio Monday– Georgean president Edward Shevardnadze said that he welcomed the "far- sighted and principled ideas of the Armenian Prime Minister [Robert Kocharian] on the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict," the Caucasus press agency reported.
Shevardnadze’s statemen’s come on the eve of an official visit by an Armenian delegation led by Prime Minister Robert Kocharian to Georgia.
The delegation is scheduled to meet with the Shevardnadze– State Minister Niko Lekishvili and other officials. The parties will confer about a range of isssues regarding the extension of bilateral cooperation. The itinerary of the visit also includes meetings with the Armenian dispora of Georgia.
