YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–"Artsrun Margarian is not a man the attempt on whose life may be considered as ordinary–it was a mean act," said Chairman of the Armenian National Movement Vano Siradeghian. According to him–it cannot be determined if the assailants failed at the murder attempts or did not intend to kill in the first place. Siradeghian finds it threatening that they–nonetheless–wounded the commander of a military structure that ensures internal sate stability.
Siradeghian noted that "being one of the supporters of the Karabakh movement–Margarian earns respect both in the army–internal forces and the Interior Ministry." Therefore–Siradeghian does not rule out that "the attempt on Margarian’s life comes as a result of differences in position on the Karabakh issue." Siradeghian considers it natural to attempt to harm "renown and prestigious people." Siradeghian said–"It does not matter who is responsible for it. Given the situation everyone will consider it necessary to make the situation even more entangled and this is where the danger is hidden."
According to Siradeghian–if within a short period of time attempts were made on the lives of two senior officials–it means that the entire executive order–starting with Ter-Petrosyan is paralyzed.
Asked whether they demand resignation of the Prime Minister or any of the ministers–Siradeghian answered: "We do not demand the resignation of the Prime Minister or any other minister. We demand that the President call reinstate constitutional order."
"I believe that if the executive power fulfills its functions–there will not be a need to call a state of emergency," Siradeghian said and clarified that there is no such intention now. He claims to have the to the problem at hand–but will only reveal it to certain people.
