LISBON–During Thursday’s MTV European Music Awards–System Of A Down was named "Best Alternative Rock Band."
In accepting the award–the group’s frontman and lead singer Serj Tankian used the occasion to highlight opposition to the war in Iraq–saying that politics had failed and the time had come for all to unite to determine our fate.
