MISSION HILLS, Calif.—The Armenian Relief Society of Western US Regional Executive and 27 Chapters sponsor the June luncheon at Ararat Home. It is a chance to contribute funds to the home, as well as visit the residents, especially the ones who spent many years in service of the ARS.
This year, the luncheon, which was also sponsored by families of former or current residents, was held on June 4, at the George Duekmejian grand ballroom of the Ararat Home in Mission Hills.
Diane Ohanesian, Chairperson of the Ladies Auxiliary, and Joseph Kanimian, Esq., Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Ararat Home of Los Angeles, welcomed everyone. His Eminence Arch. Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy, who was accompanied by Rev. Fr. Razmig Khatchadourian, commended both the Ararat Home and the ARS for the love and care that they provide, adding that this was an opportunity “to express our joy and support towards Ararat Home.” Later, the Prelate blessed the tables.
ARS Regional Executive Chairperson Lena Bozoyan delivered her board’s message of hope for long and comfortable lives for the elderly, recognizing all the ARS members who are residents of the facility, who had spent a lifetime of service to the ARS, and through the ARS served the Armenian people. She added, “Rest assured that we will continue to work hard in your footsteps.”
Bozoyan was joined by her fellow board members, and ARS members from chapters located in Southern California. Residents were brought or came to the hall to see their friends and family. ARS members from Aleppo, Syria, who are staying in the southland, were in attendance.
Entertainment was provided by Tom Bozigian trio.
Following the luncheon, attendees took the opportunity to visit those residents who were unable to attend the luncheon.
