VIENNA (MPA)–Austrian Chancellor Victor Klima–who presides over the European Council–stressed that the extraordinary European Union Summit meeting would give new boost to the EU.
In discussing relations between Turkey and the EU–Klima stated that Ankara did not meet the Copenhagen criteria–despite constant public reiteration of its European prospects.
As for Cyprus’ membership in the EU–Klima said that discussion to further expand EU membership attested to the success of the Austrian presidency of the European Union.
