ANKARA (RIA Novosti)—Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Wednesday that Turkey wants to create a “security zone” in the region and will use a cooperation council formed during Russian president’s visit to Turkey as basis for that project.
In an interview with RIA Novosti and Golos Rossii (Voice of Russia), the Turkish foreign minister expressed confidence that the Council’s activities will lay the foundation for high-level strategic cooperation and give powerful impetus to Turkish-Russian partnership in Eurasia, Middle East, Balkans and other regions.
“Turkey’s foreign policy aimed to resolve crises, facilitate the settlement of existing problems and is based on dialogue aimed at developing cooperation and integration between countries—first of all between the regional countries,” said Davutoglu.
The Council of high level cooperation between Russia and Turkey was created during the official visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to Ankara in May.
This really a slick PR move by the Turk. Gives the impression that they are the facilitators of peace and harmony in the region. They should begin first by making peace with Armenia without preconditions. Then and only then might they be taken seriously.
Turkey should clean its act with Armenia before thinking about creating so called “security zone”
Hye, a ‘security zone’ with a Turkey! A nation incapable of any extended alliances with any nations – whether Muslim or not – desperately seeking alliances to create, agree/disagree on again/off again… none lasting of any consequence… These same ‘alliances’ fail since the most ‘insecure’ zone is Turkey itself! Turks’ actions betray leaderships which desperately seek to resurrect the Ottoman empire now -today. A Turkey aware these actions are of the Ottoman mode – bullying/creating/destroying alliances – still as Turks of centuries past. Turks excel in using PLOYS, one after another after another, etc. Today the world has moved forward – the world has changed – the world’s civilized nations accomplish more with forthright dialogues, more with peaceful endeavors. Whilst the Turk of today still perpetuates Genocides to gain a Turkey’s convoluted goals – A Turkey for Turks ONLY… when in reality the world has moved far beyond such limited and controlled societies. Just see how Turks have fled a Turkey to the European nations… where they are free to pursue their own Muslim religion too. Whereas, in a Turkey today, non-Muslim religions are not free to pursue their ancient religions – repressed by the Turkish governments – albeit Muslims are spreading and free to advance in all the nations of the world! Turks do not offer a ‘secure zone’ for the non-Muslims of a Turkey. Too, even the Turkish citizens are not living in a democracy.., (Turk leaders claim they are a ‘democracy’- unbelievable, by what standards?). Turks do not offer a ‘secure zone’ for the ancient Kurdish peoples who today are suffering the latest Genocide of the Turks – continuing against Kurds… Turkey gains lands, and more, by ‘eliminating’ peoples – stealing their wealths and their culture – as if all these were belonging of the Turkish hordes from Asian mountains.
A ‘secured zone’ is needed – but it is the Turk who denies ‘security’ in all it convoluted actions against all
humanity. Turks’ slaughters of humans is the Turk method, still today. Humans ‘eliminating’ humans… not by declaring wars – easier to perform murders, rapes, and worse – still Ottoman’s mentality. And the Turks ‘get away’ with these murders (and worse) by simply denying their guilt of these crimes!! Today, the Sudanese deny their guilt of the Sudanese Genocide of the Darfurians – ala Turkish denials. Nations such as a Turkey do not offer advances to our world; a Turkey offers Genocides and worse – insecurity – to our world, The fledgling nation of Armenia – over the centuries of their ancient culture and into today – share with the world all the advances which Armenians have developed – together to advance humanity, The Turks’ only offer destructions of humanity – to ‘secure’ a Turkey.

first of all Cyrprus is occupied of them, econf Western Armenia is occupied, third kurds have no rights and the list can go on…

How convenient that the RoT has decided to create a security zone around it’s borders, a security zone based on commerce and not on mutual respect of territories or recognition of it’s past crimes. I just want to comment that at least as Armenians we will never forget never forgive, these criminals who are dressed in suits are able to fool the EU and the state department.
