BAKU (Combined Sources)–The commander of Turkey’s land forces, General Ishik Koshaner, told reporters in Baku on Monday to expect an enhancement of “military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey,” reported the Azeri Trend news Agency.
Koshaner was in Baku Monday at the head of a military delegation meeting with Azeri President Ilham Aliyev, according to the AzerTaj news agency. The meeting was scheduled following an official invitation from Azeri Defense Minister Safar Abiyev.
According Abiyev, the delegation was in Baku to discuss “military cooperation affairs” between the two Turkic allies. Koshaner is scheduled to hold a series of high level meetings while in the Azeri capital.
Koshaner echoed Abiyev’s sentiments, saying the main agenda of Koshaner’s meeting, attended also by Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilich, was “to preserve and strengthen the Turkish-Azerbaijani friendship.”
“Military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey has always existed and it will be enhanced further,” Koshaner said, adding that the Azeri-Turkish alliance serves as an example for “the world.”
The Turkish delegation also exchanged views on the prospects of new military-technical cooperation, the current situation in the South Caucasus, and ways of resolving the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, according to Trend.
Aliyev, for his part, expressed confidence that the Turkish-Azeri military alliance will continue “with the same success as in all other sphere of the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations.”
The Azeri leader also said he hoped “Koshaner’s visit to Azerbaijan will be meaningful in terms of fruitful discussions related to the prospects of cooperation in this regard.”
The Armenian nation is in a precarious state. The protocols disaster will facilitate the loss of Lake Sevan basin, Vayots Dzor and Syunik not to mention all the lands in liberated Artsakh. Nalbandian will sign a treaty with Azerbaijan giving those lands to the barbarians. What? Never! Impossible you say. Well, think again.
Armenia, like a lazy student has skated by the last 18 years not developing its full potential because it thought it had a eternal protector: Russia. Without the foresight of developing energy security, food security and military improvements in strategy and equipment our enemies have thought long and hard on how to weaken us further and ultimately destroy us. And the lazy student Armenia having procastinated is searching for ways to squeeze more time before impending academic doom. The survival of Armenia is not an academic matter. It’s a life and death matter. But sometime in the not to distant future Armenia will be an academic matter.
Turkish helicopter troops and attack helicopters are in Nakhichevan waiting to cut off the passes the Ararat valley and Sevan from Vayots Dzor and beyond. Instead of these emasculating protocols we should have been screaming from the mountain tops when it concerns our nakhichevan that it is being occupied illegally since the treaties of Kars and Moscow are patently illegal and by international law absurd. And if we were conditioned to think and act in these terms we would have also developed a fighting force and strategy to take Nakhichevan in the next round of fighting with our eternal enemy. The azeris would run away as they normally do from their lowlands as we descend from our mountains to take back what is rightfully ours historically and most of all legally.
The reality is different. We now act weak and vulnerable. Even your friends will despise you if you look vulnerable and your enemies will think they can get away with anything. Instead of proud lions as leaders we have meak mice who are only thinking of their blocks of cheese and how to get out of doing the right thing for the nation, building it effeciently economically and militarily so that will always be an Armenia.
