YEREVAN—The United States is interested in a quick settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said in a letter addressed to Azerbaijan on the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between the countries, Trend reported.
Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian had a phone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on March 3. Nalbandian and Tillerson exchanged ideas over the actions aimed at advancing the process of peaceful settlement of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic conflict.
Nalbandian briefed Tillerson on the latest developments in the conflict zone. In this context the necessity of realizing the Vienna and St. Petersburg agreements were emphasized. Tillerson reassured that the United States will continue active support for the settlement of the conflict. The US Government praises Armenia’s contribution to the peacekeeping mission.
How? by giving Artsakh back to Azerbaijan?
Well, its raining out so I have redrawn the map and given Tillerson some ideas.
NK and other territories to be divided between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Artsakh gives up ideas of independence and joins Armenia.
Nakhchivan divided between Armenia and Iran. (Elimination of Turkish/AZ border connection and Armenia does not feel surrounded by AZ)
Iran cedes NW territory to Azerbaijan. (Not Tabriz and or West AZ province)
New borders to be agreed upon based on demographics and local plebiscite but the process must be swift. Ultimately if you find yourself on the wrong side of the line you can freely move.
Armenia : happy
Azerbaijan : happy
Turkey : who cares
Iran : not happy
Georgia : not happy
I fully understand that a future Kurdistan could be involved in NW Iran as well but I do not think we can wait.
Lets have peace in NK now.
