BURBANK—Ballots for Burbank’s all-mail Primary election were sent out the week of February 4. All registered voters in the city should have received them by now.
The Armenian National Committee of America—Burbank recommends voters complete their ballots as soon as possible. This benefits the community in two ways. It gets the ballots into the City Clerk’s office quickly, so they cannot be misplaced or forgotten. It also reduces the number of people that ANCA-B must contact to remind about or assist with voting, improving voter turnout for the Armenian community of Burbank.
“Our community members often complain that elected officials and government offices don’t provide the assistance sometimes needed,” observed Gaidzag Shahbazian. “Yet, many of us still don’t vote regularly in all elections. Why are we surprised if they don’t pay attention if we are unwilling to participate in the election process as proper citizens?”
Voting is easy. Just fill in the bubbles next to the names of the candidates endorsed by the ANCA. (See the accompanying picture of the completed, two sided, ballot). Then, tear off the top stub of the ballot and insert the ballot in the secrecy sleeve. Finally, put the ballot/secrecy sleeve in the envelope provided, sign the envelope, and drop it in the mail. This year, for the first time, the envelope is postage-paid, so voters don’t have to put a stamp on it.

City Council: David Gordon, Bob Frutos, and Jess Talamantes
Board of Education: Armond Aghakhanian and Larry Applebaum
City Clerk: Zizette Mullins
