WASHINGTON—The Senate Foreign Relations Committee will begin hearings to consider President Obama’s ambassadorial nominees at noon Pacific Time, among them of his pick for Armenia, John A. Heffern.

“We are hopeful that Senators will also take full advantage of the opportunity afforded by this hearing to seek clarification regarding the Obama Administration’s position on a range of foreign policy issues related to the Caucasus region. Among these, of course, are a truthful and just resolution of the Armenian Genocide; a free and fair settlement of Nagorno Karabakh based on democracy and self-determination, and; the promotion of U.S.-Armenia economic relations through targeted programs and bilateral agreements to increase trade and investment,” expressed Armenian National Committee of America Executive Director Aram Hamparian.
Why hasn’t the world nations back up the reality of what Christian Armenia has gone thru over the decades. The world knows she went thru the Genocide of 1915-1923 by the then Turkish Governments. After the 1st World War, the Turkish Government along with Armenia & 16 other nations signed the Sevres Treaty in August of 1920 giving Armenia 40,000 square miles of its historic lands & only because of revolutionary Turks under Kemal Attaturk & revolutionary leader Lenin whom took over Czarist Russia, these two leaders crushed the Free Republic of Armenia. Stalin & Lenin then gave to the Turks Kars & Ardahan & then further divided Armenia by giving Javakh to the Georgians, & then gave Nakhichevan & Artsakh to the the Azeri’s. Not one nation brings up what the Turks & Soviets did in dividing up Armenia to them. It is time these issues should be brought forward by the present Armenian Government into the United Nations & World Courts to correct, make reparations,& land returns back to the Armenian People whom have suffered long enough.
