GLENDALE—On Thursday, September 29, the Armenian National Committee of America–Western Region invites the community to meet with 2013 Los Angeles mayoral candidate Wendy Greuel, who has served for the last two years as Los Angeles City Controller. The event will take place at the Studio City home of longtime activists Michael and Natalie Mahdesian, giving guests an opportunity to interact with Greuel and fellow activists in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Prior to her position as City Controller, Greuel was the former President Pro Tempore of the Los Angeles City Council representing the 2nd District, which includes portions of the San Fernando Valley.
Greuel is one of a number of individuals who have declared their candidacy in what promises to be an interesting mayoral election in 2013. Among her opponents are City Council President Eric Garcetti; City Councilwoman Jan Perry; and First Deputy Mayor Austin Beutner.
The event is part of the ongoing ANCA-WR Meet & Greet Series, where elected officials have the opportunity to discuss issues of significance to the Armenian American community and their constituents. The Meet & Greet series highlights the significant civic engagement of the Armenian American community throughout the Western Region and the United States, in all aspects of local, state and national politics.
The ANCA-WR has hosted several successful Meet and Greet events in 2011, most recently with Assemblymembers Anthony Portantino and Katcho Achadjian. Scores of community activists and leaders have supported the events, which underscore the integral relationship between constituents and their representatives.
Make your reservations.
