YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–A group of women organizations voiced their sharp discontent over the position the "Respublika Armenii" daily holds regarding the Karabakh conflict. According to them–it is time to provoke the Armenian people once again (the first attempt took place after the well-known press conference of the President.
But that attempt failed–because the people’s discontent acquired civilized forms–like decisions–statemen’s–conferences–round tables etc.).
The statement which was undersigned by the Armenian Republican Women Council–Union of Armenian Relief (Armenian branch)–League of Women-Electors–Association "For Stable Human Development," Armenian Women’s League–Women for Justice and Democracy–Business Woman–reads as follows:
"We never wanted and do not want a war–but we do not want our sons and daughters or our people to play the role of a sacrificial lamb forever either." The statement raises the following questions: –what can account for Parliament Speaker Babken Ararktsian’s silence in the period of tough discussions on key national problems; –what keeps the "Yerkrapah" Union from expressing its position in favor of free Karabakh at the parliament–in the times when Karabakh is facing a danger of "returning to the colonial past." –what is the aim of publicizing falsified information on discussions around the request of
Georgian leadership to bring Armenian troops into Georgian territory to protect the Armenian transport ways.
