Russia kicked off The Year of Armenia in the country on Sunday with a gala concert at Kremlin Palace–which featured both the Armenian philharmonic and chamber orchestras and attracted the likes of Charles Aznavour and Michael Legrand.
The Year of Armenia in Russia is being held under the auspices of Russian President Putin and Armenia’s President Kocharian–and will mark a series of Armenian social–political–and cultural events.
The next event in the series marking the year of Armenia in the country will be an exhibit of Armenian Church treasures at the St. Petersburg Hermitage Museum.
