Official Ankara said that there are forces that are using the Armenian Genocide issue to hinder the otherwise harmonious life of the people of Turkey.
This sentiment was expressed by Turkey’s communications director Fahrettin Altun, who has been deemed as Turkey’s number two person, after a meeting on Wednesday of the country’s advisory board in Ankara, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The board said that the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, which was on the advisory board’s agenda, was sowing divisions in Turkish society, according to the Hurriyet Daily News.
In a statement following the meeting, Altun said the Armenian Genocide question was on the agenda of the meeting, adding that some actors were seeking to “use the issue in a bid to damage the harmony of the Turkish people.”
He said the officials evaluated national and international opinions on the issue along with the correct diplomatic moves and attempts to hinder acts of disinformation on the case.
“The members of the High Advisory Board once again emphasized their determination to maintain our solidarity and union and the protection of our country’s interests,” Altun said.
Altun was the first Turkish official to react and condemn last month’s unanimous adoption by the U.S. Senate of the Armenian Genocide resolution.
Official Ankara reacted swiftly to the news of the Senate’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
“The behavior of some members of the U.S. Congress is damaging the Turkish-American ties. The sanctions bill that passed yesterday in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Armenian resolution that passed today in the Senate endanger the future of our bilateral relationship,” said Altun, on Twitter last month.
“In every previous attempt to politicize history by some members of the US Congress, we reiterated our position to form a group to study it. We expressed that history should not be something that divides nations but unites them,” added Altun at the time.
of course them turks would say that- they are right on- they stole our lands, raped and pilaged our people and girls and leaders and boys-men-cover it up and think they will get away with it? never=never and yes NEVER
Sorry for a small issue like the Armenian Genocide to hinder the otherwise harmonious life of the people of Turkey. I guess Armenians should send a letter of apology. I have no problem in causing hindrance of the “harmony” of the Armenian people if the end result is the return of half of Anatolia back to Armenia.
Poor Turkish people. Armenian people are soooo incredibly sorry for the “damages” inflicted upon you by them. Must be really hard to be a Turk nowadays, isn’t it.
NO peace can perdure without making justice to History
These two-faced and double-talking tricky Turks have no shame. They have finally realized that the world is no longer willing to turn a blind eye on their criminal past and that they can no longer use geopolitics and their NATO membership to threaten and blackmail those who speak up about and against their premeditated and state-sponsored atrocities and genocide committed against native Armenians, whose lands they occupy today, and having exhausted all lies they have told over the years and decades, are now feeling isolated and that the noose around their necks are tightening, and having no other recourse they are now trying their last attempt to throw the Armenian Genocide recognition off-course by suggesting a committee of historians be formed to “study” this case which in reality this is nothing other than a euphemism for continued denial of the genocide.
How is it that successive fascist leaders of this terrorist Turkish state for decades since 1915 have denied such thing ever took place, with many lies and blame games in-between, and after a century of denial they are now suggesting the study of something that according to them never happened in the first place? That’s because they know it did happen and by suggesting such a farce they want to portray themselves in good light by dragging this along and to falsely come across as conciliatory to the rest of the world in order to avoid responsibility and accountability for this heinous crime they know once fully exposed and acknowledged could be quite costly to them in financial compensatory terms as well as territorial. They will do anything and everything to avoid both and that is why they begin to panic and react to this the way they do and not because they are not guilty but because they are.
Finally, how can their fascist leader Erdogan suggest such a committee be formed to “study” the Armenian Genocide while he himself never misses an opportunity calling it a lie and to deny that such a thing ever took place even before such a committee is formed? He has already decided what the outcome of this “study” should be. He is acting like the judge, the jury and the executioner of this nonsense he is suggesting. This charlatan should never be trusted. He was also the one who created an atmosphere of hate in Turkey towards the Armenians, by introducing and enacting the Article 301 of Turkish Penal Code, also known as “Insulting Turkishness”, that led to the cold-blooded murder of Hrant Dink on January 19, 2007. He is a two-headed snake and we must never fall into his trap. The Armenian Genocide is a non-deniable historical fact, period.
Turkey is in denial and that is very damaging!
The Turkey of the steppes was structured economically, socially, culturally, by the enslavement of its minorities up to the systemic eradication. They massacred the Armenien baker so entire regions had to migrate because he was hungry (10 million). The Turkish people know this, I heard it from a mullah who regretted this fault in explaining the atrocities in the city of “karaman” Marach. Time is approaching, thanks to our activists, where Turkey will admit and will reparin its interest. Turkey cannot persevere in this path of aggression, brutality, interior against its citizens and outside, with all its neighbors and beyond. History has known this hitler trype and Napoleon they suffered a sad end. Attaturk has always been known as a skilled corruptor and a cold-blooded criminal.
Imagine a pedophile rapist race worry about their “harmony”?Also the Truth sows divisions. Just incredible..
Arm the Army to the teeth. Create a nuclear clandestine program. NEVER lose sight of western Armenia.UNITE AS ONE. Anyone else going counter is a TRAITOR.. IT BELONGS TO ARMENIANS without Turks.. Rid the rapist even if it needs to be destroyed. ITS THE ONLY ANSWER…
