SANTA MONICA–Supporters of the Armenian National Committee – Political Action Committee (ANC-PAC) joined together last week to raise funds for the campaign of Armenian American congressional candidate Howard Kaloogian. The fundraiser–held at the home of Mrs. Ashken Pilavjian–drew a broad cross section of Armenian American political activists.
"The ANC-PAC is proud of our generous host Mrs. Ashken Pilavjian and all those who came out to support Howard Kaloogian’s congressional campaign," remarked ANC-PAC supporter Armen Martin. "We look forward to continuing our work with Howard to ensure that he has the support–both financial and grassroots–to win his primary race on April 11–2006," added Martin.
The 50th Congressional District–where Kaloogian is running–faces a vacancy due to the recent resignation of Randy "Duke" Cunningham. The Congressional District includes a large portion of northern San Diego County–surrounding areas including the cities of Escondido–San Marcos–and Carlsbad.
The ANC-PAC is a non-partisan federally registered political action committee established to support campaign committees for Members of Congress who share the values of the Armenian American community. The ANC-PAC is at the forefront of efforts to ensure that the voice of the Armenian American community is clearly heard in our nation’s capital. The ANC-PAC continues a century old tradition of Armenian Americans being engaged with the public policy issues facing national political leaders–both in the US Congress and the White House.
