GLENDALE—The Armenian Relief Society of Western USA Javakhk Fund Committee has organized its Eighth Annual Javakhk Gala Dinner on Sunday, March 18, 2012. Supporters will gather aboard the yacht Electra “Crystal/Eternity” for the committee’s annual fundraiser in support of ARS programs in Javakhk.
Guests will enjoy a cruise from 4-10 p.m. around the Newport Beach harbor as they dine, with entertainment provided by singer Nersik Ispiryan. Tickets are $150 per person.
On a yearly basis, the ARS Javakhk Fund Committee undertakes various projects benefiting Javakhk Armenians. Alongside this fundraiser, coin banks are distributed each year to Armenian schoolchildren, who at an early age learn the importance of giving back and contributing to vital programs that benefit those in need. The ARS-WUSA region currently supports two youth centers in the districts of Akhalkalak and Akhaltskha in Javakhk, where Armenian youth are exposed to educational programs including instruction in language, music, and computer training.
Since space is limited, advance reservations are required. Those interested in attending the event can contact the ARS Regional Headquarters at (818) 500-1343 or office@arswestusa.org to purchase tickets or obtain additional information.
